Biography

Dr. Forde was born in California and raised in Barbados, a beautiful island in the Caribbean. She returned to the United States in 1980 to continue her education. She moved to Minnesota in 1987.

Education

Dr. Forde received her bachelor's degree in bio-medical sciences from Montana State University in 1986. She received her Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 1991 from Northwestern College of Chiropractic, after 4 years of study and internship.

She has studied various chiropractic techniques including Diversified, Activator, SOT, AK, Cranial Sacral, Network, and Thompson. She has also studied other healing methods such as acupuncture, Swedish and Shiatsu massage, Brain Gym, and Health Kinesiology, a method that relieves stress and balances the mind and body using acupressure. She is constantly seeking to update her skills and knowledge of health and healing.

Her philosophy of healing

  • Balance
  • Integration

Her philosophy is based on the Triad of Health. Balance is necessary for health. When we become out of balance structurally, emotionally, or bio-chemically in our bodies, or in our lives, dis-ease can occur. Dr. Forde integrates many methods of healing to assist her patients to regain that balance of health.

Dr. Forde believes that when the body is in balance, it is better able to heal itself under the guidance of its own innate intelligence. Since 1991, Dr. Forde has practiced chiropractic health care with an emphasis on the cause of pain and dis-ease. Dr. Forde believes that it is only through identifying the cause, be it structural, chemical, emotional, or environmental, that one can determine what is necessary to relieve the pain or dis-ease. Once the cause has been determined, the next step is to begin to remove the blocks to the body's own innate intelligence and its guidance of the body back to health.

Thomas Edison once said:

  • "The doctor of the future will give no medicine but will interest patients in the care of the human frame and in the cause and prevention of dis-ease."

Edison was referring to healthcare as a lifestyle. To maintain a healthy lifestyle one must maintain a balance of body, mind and spirit.
